Did you know that 3-6% of patients undergoing appendicitis surgery may be diagnosed with appendix cancer? In such cases, patients are treated surgically to ensure maximum benefit. Some appendix cancers produce a slimy substance called mucin, which requires a more advanced procedure known as Cytoreductive Surgery combined with HIPEC chemotherapy, both offered at our advanced cancer care centre.
