Free camping Victoria, off the grid camp sites along the beautiful big lake and how to get there?

Описание к видео Free camping Victoria, off the grid camp sites along the beautiful big lake and how to get there?

In this episode we have talked about our passion to keep Australia beautiful by picking up plastic debris from the beaches that we are visiting currently and furthermore we have focused on our caravanning journey from Mount Gambier to Rocklands Reservoir the second biggest lake in Victoria.

This vlog is just the snapshot of our experience at the Rocklands Reservoir. Please feel free to comment to learn more about the area, we are always keen to respond if you have any queries.

We made our way from Mount Gambier to Rocklands reservoir (Glendinning camping area) on the 06/09/2024. The journey of 177kms took us 4 hours that includes 1 hour stopover at Casterton ( The home of Kelpie). The road from Mount Gambier to Rocklands reservoir was in very good condition. It was actually very scenic driving through farms and natural reserves. The road was bitumised to the entrance of the park and then there was dirt tracks once in the park, however they are accessible by 4wd and 2wd. There were certain areas I wouldn't attempt to cross in a 2wd especially when raining.

There were only 3 more campers were camping there on the day we arrived there. We found a leveled site for us and camped there for 6 nights until we ran out of drinking water.

Glendinning camp includes the following:
Plenty of camp areas
Long drop toilets
No bins
No drinking water
Lake
Plenty of wildlife
Fire wood (fire restrictions apply in the warmer months)
Fishing
Boat ramp
Day use areas, picnic areas with shelter and tables
Low phone reception

We left this site after 6 nights and made our way to Bendigo.
Highly recommended free and off the grid camping.
