Footage of a 8-Car M7 Set operating on the West Hempstead Branch, on the last day of shuttle train service to/from Valley Stream. West Hempstead Branch service operated as a shuttle between West Hempstead and Valley Stream during off-peak periods, roughly every two hours. During peak hours, trains ran from West Hempstead to Westwood, then stopped at Saint Albans, en route to Atlantic Terminal or Jamaica in the AM (and the reverse in the PM peak, with the exception of one train).

As part of the February 27th service changes, there were multiple changes to the West Hempstead Branch service. One of the most notable ones was the elimination was the introduction of hourly service on the branch during most off-peak periods. Also during off-peak hours, the transfer at Valley Stream (and shuttle service altogether) was discontinued, in favor of trains operating to/from NYC. All trains operate at least to/from Jamaica, with an intermediate stop at Saint Albans. West Hempstead Branch trains no longer stop at Valley Stream. During peak periods, trains run to either Penn Station or Grand Central. During reverse peak and off-peak hours, trains run to/from Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn.
