It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s just another week living off-grid with our family in rural Bulgaria. With wildfires a growing risk, we knew it was time to build our own DIY fire pump system and as the mini digger hits 100 hours, we give our verdict on if it was a worthwhile purchase for us.

We’re not experts — we’re just doing the best we can with what we’ve got!

After selling all our belongings and escaping the UK rental trap, we bought an abandoned vineyard with a house, and three barns in Bulgaria. Our progress might seem slow, but we moved here for a better quality of life. Completing the work ourselves and spending quality time with our children means we are living our dream each and every day.
