I wrote this song last year when I first heard the news about family separation at the border. Feeling heartbroken and helpless, this song poured out of me. Bawling my eyes out over my own country refusing to help people in dire need, I wondered what the hell I could possibly do about it. Sometimes I go through these phases where I hide my art from the world, thinking I’m not ready or it’s not good enough. But my art is an extension of my true self, my art is exactly what I have to gift to the world. If enough of our voices cry out for change we will be heard. We must stand together as Team Human and save our people, the children of the world, our future.
