Nathaniel Dett and Nathaniel Dett, was a Canadian-American Black composer, organist, pianist, choral director, and music professor. Dett performed at Carnegie Hall and at the Boston Symphony Hall as a pianist and choir director, dying at age 60 on a USO tour in World War 2.
