This chart topping song has everything a successful song should NOT have, yet appeals to everything we love about music. It also (to further the contrast) contains everything a song SHOULD have... haha. It is one of my favorite songs of all time because of it's complexity and it's simplicity.

The song itself is amazing, but what it has taught me about writing and vocal performance is nothing short of profound: Be yourself. Aim for excellence, not for perfection. Strive for nothing. Be into music and into making music for the the joy of the experience.

You never know when inspiration brought on by the most pure intentions brings about something that will change your life and the lives around you!
