Why Do Filipinos Have So Many Babies? | Street Interview

Did you know that the Philippines has one of the youngest and fastest growing populations in Asia? Around 30% of the population or 33 million people are under the age of 15. Just for comparison, data shows that in 2021, Korea only had around 6 million people under the age of 15.
However, it’s recently been reported that the fertility rate in the Philippines has dropped sharply in the past years. Why is that the case? And why does the Philippines still have so many young people? We hit the streets of Manila to find out.
