After doing loads of research it turned out the Ruger Mk2 22/45 was the one for me. Mk2s have some of the best features available without all the bad, with of course the exception of the takedown for cleaning/servicing. But once you get the hang of it, not much wrong with it given the limitations of the platform. So I bought one and after roughly 1000 rounds(safe queens you've been served notice) it stove piped like a sonofagun plus it didn't like to extract so here is what I did amend it.

Now it'd be perfect if we could just get higher capacity mags...
