Baykar's AKINCI unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) successfully launched two upgraded variants of ROKETSAN's UAV-122 aeroballistic missiles equipped with seekers, lasers, and TV guidance systems. During tests, these missiles effectively hit sea targets the size of rafts. Initially, the UAV-122 missile featured a guidance system utilizing GNSS and INS only. The integration of seekers enhances the missile's capability to engage both moving and predetermined targets. The inclusion of seekers was planned from the outset, as indicated by their placement at the tip of the original UAV-122 missile design.

The larger UAV-230 missile probably shares a similar capability. Therefore, it may soon become compatible with seekers as well. Following the successful addition of a laser seeker to the TRLG-122 missile, a version of the TRG-122 guided artillery rocket. This advancement could enable AKINCI and other platforms to designate targets using laser guidance.

ROKETSAN has recently introduced a TV seeker variant for the first time on a missile, marking a significant development. Previously, the AKINCI platform tested the gliding MAM-L smart munition equipped with a TV seeker. Additionally, ROKETSAN plans to incorporate a TV+IIR seeker on its new-generation ATGM, UMTAS-GM Block 2. TV seekers provide a man-in-the-loop capability by transmitting real-time video feed to the launching aircraft. This capability enhances the missile's ability to engage moving targets and select pre-defined targets. Compared to IIR seekers performing similar functions, TV seekers are more cost-effective and easier to manufacture.

ROKETSAN has expanded its UAV line of aeroballistic missiles from the TRG family of guided artillery rockets by incorporating new flight software. The larger 230 mm UAV-230 missile can achieve a range of 150 km, while the 122 mm UAV-122 missile has a range exceeding 55 km.
