The manufacturing process has four stages: 1) Withering, 2) Rolling, 3) Fermentation, 4) drying. This process has a two-fold purpose: 1) to dry the leaf, 2) to allow the chemical constituents of the leaf to produce the quality peculiar to each type of tea.
