Don’t Forget This Step If You're Travelling to Nepal on Visa on Arrival

Tribhuvan International Airport is Nepal's only international airport. The Immigration Office at TIA (Tribhuvan International Airport), under the Department of Immigration, offers Visa on Arrival to tourists. Other entry points at border regions also provide 'On Arrival Visa' to foreigners.

The 'On Arrival' visa process is quick, but queues may occur during peak seasons. To skip queues, obtain a visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions abroad. If obtained there, enter Nepal within six months.

On Arrival Visas are 'Tourist Visas', with multiple re-entry facilities. Even for non-tourism purposes, get a 'Tourist Visa'. Change visa category at the Department of Immigration based on purpose and stay length.

Certain nationals must acquire visas prior to arrival. Follow these steps at the airport for Tourist Visa on Arrival:

1st Step:
Fill the 'Arrival Card' and the Online 'Tourist Visa' form.

2nd Step:
Pay at the bank (15/30/90 Days). Carry cash.

On Arrival Visa Fee:
15 Days – 30 USD
30 Days – 50 USD
90 Days – 125 USD

3rd Step:
Proceed to Immigration Desk with online form, payment receipts, and passport. Submit to the immigration officer for visa processing.

Gratis Visa (Visa for Free):
Issued free for children below 10, SAARC Citizens (except Afghanistan) up to 30 days once yearly, NRN cardholders, Chinese Nationals, and certain officials.

All visas at the Airport are Tourist Visas. Extend or change visa category at the Department of Immigration or Pokhara Immigration Office for tourist visas. Non-tourist visas extendable at the Department of Immigration for a year (except business visas).
