Mindanao, Part 1: Surigao City to Butuan City

Day 5 covers around an Est.385+Km from Surigao City to Davao City within 7+hrs of drive. ETD Parkway Hotel in Surigao City 0700hrs after breakfast at the hotel. AH26/ Pan Philippine Highway is very good with up to 6 lanes except some few parts where repairs are being done or widening is still not done. Tagum’s iconic version of palm tree lined highway is very beautiful & picture perfect. Overall, Mindanao’s roads are wide with ample room for future additional widening. Tagum & Panabo have their overpasses under construction.

The 1st segment of Day 5 covers from Parkway Hotel, AH26, Surigao City where we have spent the night to AH26/ Pan Philippine Highway Junction with Agusan-Misamis Oriental Road in Butuan City. Distance is about 110+Km within 130Mins drive time. ETD Surigao is at around 0700Hrs after breakfast & was able to see fully Mindanao’s roads in daylight for the first time. Dropped by Agusan del Norte marker for some pics 😊.
The following towns were passed AH26/ Maharlika Highway southbound direction: Surigao City, Sison, Placer, Tubod, Alegria in Surigao del Norte and Kitcharao, Jabonga, Santiago, Tubay, Cabadbaran City, Remedios T. Romualdez & Butuan City in Agusan del Norte.
