My Paris hood is the one everyone wants to see

The Marais is the most popular area of Paris for visitors these days. It also happens to be my neighborhood.

I've seen this district change a lot of over the years -- though the beautiful, historic architecture always stays the same.

It's easy to see why so many people are drawn to the Marais: it has cafés and cute shops and lovely parks, and culture and discoveries in every street.

There's the Place des Vosges (of course -- so many people love sitting on the grass in this charming park), and the Marché des Enfants Rouges, which is a really well-known covered market fantastic for casual dining, and shop your heart out for clothes on Rue des Francs Bourgeois.

But there are also little hidden corners that only locals know (and lucky viewers who check out my YouTube channel!).....

But as lovely as the Marais is -- and it truly is! -- I'm a little conflicted. Parts of its have become a bit Disneyfied, not at all suited for Parisians, only tourists. There is a surge of what I call Instagram cafés. Have a look -- you'll see what I mean.

So... I am wondering now if the Marais is still the neighborhood I want to live in. I've loved it for so long, it would be hard to think of going to a different part of Paris. But, well, the place has changed....
