Or How long does it take to get Cardano staking rewards?

It is the second most asked question right after How to stake Cardano ADA

And in this video, I’ll be answering that question so you’ll know exactly when to expect your rewards from staking ADA.

In short, it will take 15 to 20 days between the time you first delegate your ADA to a stake pool and when you receive your first reward payout.

After this, you will receive rewards for every epoch, which is every 5 days for the epoch that was active 2 epochs ago.

To better understand this, I’ve got a little animation here that will explain what happens every epoch.

First off, we need to understand that Cardano time periods are broken up into 5 day periods called an epoch and at the end of each epoch a snapshot is taken of what is delegated to a pool and from different wallets.

In the first epoch when you delegate, your stake is not yet.

Once you have waited for all those epochs to have passed, you may be wondering how do I check my staking rewards for Cardano. Well, depending on the wallet that you’re using, for example, in Yoroi, you simply click open the wallet and from the dashboard, you should be able to see the rewards that have been paid out.

In Daedalus, click on the delegation tab and then the rewards tab and you’ll see your payouts from your wallets there.

Are ADA rewards automatically staked?

They certainly are. You can almost set and forget your ADA delegation and sit back and wait for the returns. I say almost as you do need to check that the pool that you’ve delegated to hasn’t become oversaturated, which means it reached its limits of delegation and as a result, will no longer be returning rewards. The other aspect is if the pool is still operating, they may have retired or had issues where they aren’t minting blocks.
