BNSF Coal Trains

One of the most common carloads you will find rolling by on the rails of North America is coal. Coal accounts for anywhere from 15 to 25% of all freight traffic, including on the BNSF Railway. A large percentage of this coal is taken from Wyoming’s Powder River Basin. Come along as we take a look at several loaded and empty BNSF trains of coal hoppers traveling over various portions of the railroad.
