Did you know Iraq has marshes?! Learning more about the culture of the people who have lived in the marshes was really interesting! Meeting Abu Haider and his family was definitely our highlight – their warmth and hospitality was one of our favorite parts of our visit to Iraq.

Abu Haider (which means "father of Haider," who is his oldest son) is quite a celebrity among tourists who visit Iraq because of how fun and kind he is! We loved learning more about their culture and traditions, and spending time with their family!
