In this video we cover the enthalpy change of solution. We’ll start with its definition and see the three steps in dissolving an ionic compound which include lattice dissociation enthalpy and hydration enthalpy. Subsequently we’ll look at their definition and the factors that affect them. Then we’ll proceed to the calculation step-by-step and comment on the experimental vs. theoretical values. In conclusion we’ll look at an exam style question.
