One of the upper Columbia River's most popular salmon fisheries is the Brewster pool Sockeye Salmon fishery. This large pool in the Columbia River can sometimes hold several hundred thousand salmon and makes for excellent fishing. This fishery is especially favorable to kayak anglers as the currents tend to be weak, water temperatures relatively warm at 60+ F, and primitive launches are available with 1 mile of the fishing grounds.
