BJP leader and former External Minister Sushma Swaraj’s daughter Bansuri Swaraj on August 13 reacted to Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj’s statement on National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill 2023. She said that there seems a lack of knowledge of constitutional provisions and of the law itself in his statement. She also showed confidence saying Supreme Court will uphold the new law if challenged by AAP. “Saurabh Bharadwaj himself is a lawyer. There seems a lack of knowledge of constitutional provisions and of the law itself in his statement. Parliament has supremacy in making any laws for the Delhi territory. I am very confident that the new law is not only in consonance with the constitutional bench judgment of 11th May 2023, but is also in accordance with constitutional provisions. And therefore I am confident that the Supreme Court will uphold the new law if challenged by AAP,” said Bansuri Swaraj.
