Hey everyone! This is not only my first-ever gaming video overall, but in addition, it's also the first episode of what will be a full Let's Play of sorts of Pokemon Emerald! As a lifelong fan of Pokemon, I felt it was only right for a Pokemon game to be the subject of my first playthrough.

In addition -- and also because I've never done this while playing a Pokemon game -- I'll be implementing the rules of the Nuzlocke Challenge. A link to the full set of rules (both obligatory and optional) will be further below, but the rules I'll be applying to my playthrough are as follows:

1. If my Pokemon faints, IT'S DEAD.
2. All Pokemon must be nicknamed.
3. Black-out/White-out = GAME OVER.
4. No resetting or starting over.
5. I can only catch the first Pokemon on each new route (the only exceptions being for duplicates and shiny Pokemon). If the Pokemon faints or flees, there are NO SECOND CHANCES on that route!

I hope you enjoy this playthrough -- more episodes will be coming as I record them! And although I've played the other Generation 3 games, I've not specifically played Emerald, nor have I done a Nuzlocke, so please, be kind!
