I couldn't find a good video explaining the details of soul runecrafting with the diary cape perk, so I made my own. Using the diary cape to go to the abyss is faster than running the long way around to the soul altar and uses less run energy, which allows you to run back (instead of POH fairy ring, which is about ~12 seconds slower). Unfortunately you steadily lose run energy with this method, so you still have to use the POH teleport once every 3 inventories. I've recorded some of my runecrafting and selected a segment which shows one of each inventory.


The max cape is not essential for this method, although it does have a bunch of convenient perks in once. For example a construction cape, or quest cape with desert amulet, would work just as well for restoring health and fairy ring access. I wonder if using the Arceuus home teleport spell could speed up the method.


The speed of an abyss inventory depends on where in the abyss you spawn, but my average seems to be around 7 minutes and 15 seconds. Each lap I make (22+21)*4 = 172 soul runes and around 930 headless arrows. In total this puts this method at:
43.2k runecrafting xp, 5.7k crafting xp, 4.3k mining xp and 7.7k headless arrows per hour.

This is quite a bit lower than I was expecting, although admittedly I am losing time on the stalls and on the running.
