How to check your Mil Dot Scope Magnification

Описание к видео How to check your Mil Dot Scope Magnification

Here is how to check magnification on a Mil-Dot SFP Scope. The scope I used is a UTG 4-16x44 Compact Tactical Rifle Scope, 30mm with 9-dot Mil Reticle, Wire Reticle. To mil a target with this scope, you have to have it at 10X.
So what if you wanted to use this scope on max magnification, what are the measurements when on max? When you are trying to hit a target far away and need to use the max. Or low power, what are the dots measurements then? I always leave my scope on low power incase I need to quickly shoot a target or if I am close. If you have a ballistic app, it will tell you, but how do you know if your scope has the correct magnification as advertised?
So I checked the scope and I found the magnification to be 4.1 power on low and 14.2 on max. Not 4 and not 16. Once you have the correct data, you can use the app to plug in your new scope power range. With this scope and app, I can turn this to max power and use it as a Bullet drop reticle with 9 hold overs.
What you will need is a large target, colored tape, measuring tape and correct range to the target at 100 yards. Ballistic app is not necessary, if you are just wanting to find out what the max and min powers are. If you want to know the hold overs, you will need to figure out the muzzle velocity for you particular rifle, ammo, and shoot in your environment. I demonstrate that in my BDC Scope video and KS-47 part 2 video. Input all that data and you will be using that scope to its max potential.
