Award-winning Upside Down Apple Pie

A unique and award winning Apple Pie that is inverted to reveal a Pecan Topping! This Extraordinary Apple Pie comes from Ms. Susan Frisch of Germansville, PA. Ms. Frisch has won many ribbons at local fairs for her recipe.

For the Pecan Topping, combine:
1/2 Cup Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Chopped Pecans
4 TBSP melted Butter
For the Pie Filling:
8 Cups thinly sliced Apples, I used Jonagold Apples
1 TBSP Orange Juice
1 Cup Granulated Sugar
1/3 Cup Flour
1 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
1/4 Tsp Nutmeg
2 TBSP melted Butter
For the Glaze:
1/2 Cup Confectioners' Sugar
2 Tsp Orange Juice or Milk
