In 1981, Mel Tillis & Terry Bradshaw played a stock car team in the movie, "The Cannonball Run". Someone decided to try a 30-minute comedy pilot featuring those same two characters, hoping to get it picked up for NBC's 1981 season. The pilot was, unfortunately, not picked up for a series. So, it was aired as a one-off special, replacing "The Brady Brides" for one night. I don't believe this has been seen since then. Also starring Burton Gilliam, Samantha Harper, Robert Tessier and R.G. Armstrong. Directed by Hal Needham.
With the original commercials as broadcast in 1981.
