Two generations of the Kaloshin family coexist in an unusual cube-shaped house: Mikhail, his parents, wife Anna and son Vasily. Mikhail and his father were inspired by the design of a foreign house and decided to build one by themselves for their family in one of the elite villages of Saint Petersburg. While the men were building, Mikhail’s mother got into creativity: she took up yoga, stage speech, design, and even began to perform as a 60+ model. Living together with such an active and eccentric grandmother began to tire Anna, so she decided to show her husband how calm and pleasant it is to live separately from his parents. Her request was heard, and now the Kaloshin family will go to Tolyatti for three days. Here, the Uzbek-Russian Ochilov family lives in an old rickety hut. Bahodir, the husband, makes his wife Elena do everything about their house and raise their two small kids all by herself. Besides, Elena must serve Bahodir’s family, for example, every week she is cooking pilaf, chorba and other national dishes for them. This has made the woman very tired. Though she accepted Islam for the sake of her husband, she wasn’t ready for such a patriarchal family life.
