Cyber Police Arrest Three for ₹82 Crore Data Theft from IT Company in Hinjawadi
Pimpri Chinchwad, August 20, 2025 – In a major cybercrime case, Pimpri Chinchwad Cyber Police have arrested three accused for stealing confidential data and source code worth over ₹82 crore from a reputed IT company in Hinjawadi and establishing their own firm using the stolen intellectual property.
The complainant company had employed Biswajit Mishra as a Project Manager for a client project with ASAP Semiconductors LLC. Along with his associates Sagar Vishnu and Nayum Sheikh, as well as others, he allegedly violated contractual agreements and misused the company’s copyright-protected source code, proprietary software solutions, and confidential data. The accused went on to establish a new company named Apexionics Solutions Pvt. Ltd., using the stolen data for their own profit.
Based on the complaint, FIR No. 33/2025 was registered at the Cyber Police Station under IPC Sections 316(2), 316(5), 318(4), 3(5) and Sections 43, 66, 72 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
During investigation, it was revealed that the accused had caused financial losses to the tune of ₹82 crore, including project revenue, opportunity losses, and illegal development of more than 100 websites. Following technical surveillance, police conducted a raid at the Apexionics Solutions office in Baner and arrested the three accused.
The arrested individuals are:
Biswajit Mishra (45), resident of Baner
Nayum Sheikh (42), resident of Kondhwa
Sagar Vishnu (39), resident of Rahatani
Police seized three laptops and four mobile phones from their possession. Preliminary probe also revealed their collusion with a US-based client company. The trio was arrested on August 14, 2025, at 10:35 pm and has been remanded to police custody till August 20, 2025.
This operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey, Joint CP Dr. Shashikant, Additional CP Sarang Avhad, DCP (Crime) Dr. Shivaji Pawar, and ACP (Crime I) Dr. Vishal Hire. The team was led by PI Ravikiran Nale with officers #Pravin_Swami, Sagar Poman, and a dedicated cybercrime squad.
