HOW TO GET THROUGH LIFE JOYFULLY
Matthew 5:1-12
1. Matthew chapters 5-7 contain the longes recorded sermon preached by Jesus. It begins with these 9 beatitudes or attitudes we need to exhibit.
2. “Blessed” mean happy beyond description. This passage tells us how to have happiness & joy in this New Year that is beyond description.

i. Pray More Than You Worry
a. The result is you will accomplish more and stress less.
b. Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but doesn’t get you anywhere.

ii. Give More Than You Receive
a. The result will be that you will enjoy what you have more.
b. Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” - Acts 20:35

iii. Praise More Than You Criticize
a. The result will be that you have more true friends around you because no one enjoys being criticized.
b. Good things tend to happen when we treat people with respect.

iv. Focus More on Others Than Yourself
a. The result will be that people will have more fun being in your life.
b. Here are four keys to a joyful life in 2026: Having the right…
i. Personal Relationship with God
ii. Purpose – to glorify the Lord & help people
iii. Patience – this is waiting without worrying
iv. Perseverance – good things happen to those who refuse to give up!

v. Play, But Work More than You Play
a. The result will be that you will feel better about your work and play.
b. I could say, “Exercise more than you eat” but that might be unrealistic. Ha!

vi. Make More Than You Spend
a. The result will be that you will always have enough.
b. We do not have to fear the future. God has promised to be with us and supply every need. Philippians 4:19

vii. Focus More on the Future Than the Past
a. Remember your Lord.
b. Renew your Life.
c. Renew your Loyalty.
