Randy: Hey, guys. Randy here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Demco eZ-Latch Coupler. We're going to be going through the repair process. We have kits available whether you have the two inch or the two and 5/16 inch ball. Basically, it gives us a complete replacement so whether you have this bolted on and you don't want to go through the expense of replacing the entire coupler, or maybe it's welded on and it really isn't a feasible option, it's going to give you a great way to completely rebuild this, get it back in perfect operating condition for you.This repair is really pretty straightforward.

We're going to need a 5/32 punch, and now you can see we've got a hammer, then a 5/32 hex bit. We're going to start with our punch. We've got a roll pin in here. Just going to draft that out, and see as we begin to hit it on one side, it's going to come out further here on the other. All right, before I punch out, you can see it allows us to get that section out.

Then we'll roll this over. So, you've got a screw right here. That's where we'll use our 5/32 hex bit. We want to get that backed out. It has Loctite on it, so it might be a little stiff initially.Move that out of the way.

You see, it's spring loaded, so we'll push down there, hold our spring on that bottom side. That'll allow us to reach in and to pull that portion out. That portion out. We've got our spring that's going to come out. Then also the connecting rod.

Basically removed all components of our coupler at that point. Their new component kit is gonna come with every moving part of this coupler, so you can replace the entire thing, or you can use this kit to have on hand if particular pieces give out on you. To rebuild it, we're going to start with our top latch handle and our main pin that goes through the middle. Got our new roll pin here. We're going to slide that in. You'll see it comes right through the middle. When I align that with the hole in our pen, we'll start to drive that in. Maybe an eighth or a quarter inch kind of a gap on each side. We'll just split the difference there.All right, now we're going to take that, place it down on our coupler just like that. Then we can flip it over. We can see inside now, so let's take our spring and get that slid down and over. Got our spring keeper. In our case with this coupler, we're using the -2.0 hole. Then we'll push that all the way down. We want to take our catch block. We'll replace our screw, and that's gonna be what holds everything together for us. As you can see, be right back and ready for use.
