Adding Colour with Soft Pastels and using Collage Fodder ⭐ Mixed Media Art Journal Tutorial

🌞Hi there, Susanne here with a spread in my handmade junk art journal using collage, soft pastels, stamps and mark making. I'm decorating the pages with collage fodder made with our new Sketchy Leaves 4 stencil. A tutorial on how I made this is here:    • Making Botanical Collage Elements wit...  
I started the background of this page with different collage papers such as gelli prints and scrapbooking paper. I adhered the torn pieces with a glue stick and covered the whole spread with a layer of clear gesso and let it dry. I am using soft pastels together with water to bring in colour. If you don't have soft pastels you can use any other transparent medium, such as water-soluble pencils, Brushos, watercolors or acrylic inks. Once this was dry, I sprayed some fixative onto my background and then added a little bit of background stamping with images from Mixed Media Marks 1 and the bold leaf from Pencil Marks 7. To bring in more vibrancy I sprinkled acrylic ink in white and turquoise. I made some crayon marks with Neocolor II, too.
