In this video I have discussed about what is GATE score as provided in the GATE scorecard by IITs. Common misconception exists between GATE marks and GATE score. GATE marks is specific to the candidate GATE paper, and these marks are out of 100, whereas GATE score is out of 1000 and is more like a percentile, which provides your relative position among all ranked candidates.
GATE score is an important criteria in these admissions and not the GATE marks. So focus on your GATE score which needs to be better. I have explained which GATE scores are considered 'good' and 'excellent'. So watch this video and share with all students who appeared so that they can also predict and take proper decision depending upon the GATE score. I made a mistake of looking at my GATE rank and applying. So don't repeat this mistake.
