Meet Eugeo, the flaxen-haired boy from the northern village of Rulid in Underworld. The childhood friend to Kirito and Alice Zuberg, Eugeo acts as the co-protagonist for a majority of the Alicization Arc and as Kirito’s partner.

To Kirito, Eugeo is "the embodiment of honesty". As a boy he was assigned the Calling of cutting down the Gigas Cedar, a tree so large that it drains all the life in the earth around Rulid. Despite losing his 2 childhood friends one after the other, forgetting about one of them in the process, he was the one who continued to faithfully chop away at the Demon Tree all alone, with no end of the task in sight.

Aside from the Dragonbone Axe used in his mission to fell the Gigas Cedar, the slender youth's weapon of choice is the icey Blue Rose Sword, a legendary blade told about in an old Rulid folktale, said to be guarded by a great dragon within the End Mountain range. After discovering that the dragon that once possessed the ancient sword was slain, Eugeo claimed it as his own, hoping he would one day be able to use it.

But after 6 years, his life was about to have another huge shift, as a mysterious boy with black hair appeared from the forest, claiming he was lost and without memories of his past. Eugeo responded to the stranger with same kindness he showed everyone else, but deep down, he felt like he had met this person before.. A long long time ago... When 3 kids were running next to the river of Rul, having peaceful days...
