I'm challenging industry giants like Sony, Tamron, and Sigma to make this a reality, prioritizing a flat front element for easy filter use (82mm or smaller thread), lightweight design, robust weather sealing, corner-to-corner sharpness throughout the zoom and aperture range (ideally F8-F16), and a distinct sunstar (5 or 6 straight blades). Surprisingly, I believe we can compromise on wide apertures (F5.6 or slower is fine for tripod-based landscape work) and in-lens image stabilization (IBIS is often sufficient).
