Dulcineassecretdiarycontinued - it's catch up time and videos are out of order again. Very tiring day on new years eve 2025.

Let's back track a little to my visit to the NGV to see the Vivienne Westwood X Kawahuba exhibition.

I have wanted to see this for a while and today I finally got to go and see it.

It is around $40 to see it and I did not purchase a ticket online, I took my chances and purchased a ticket when I arrived with a concession card. There were no queues to get in. I guess the opening night and hype was over or people were partying or getting ready to party as it is NYE.

There was a steady increase in visitors whilst I was there . It was the perfect time to visit , the number of people there were chilled and it was easy to take photos and videos without having to push shove or crane over people.

I have to be honest I like Viviene Westwood but was unfamiliar with the other Japanese fashion designer's brand. Tge only logo I recognised from her fashion was the little heart which I believe is to do with accessibility clothing.

Not my favourite exhibition at the NGV and I've seen countless fashion exhibitions . I rate it probably a 6/10. A little too much reading on the walls for me but the pieces of clothing on display are absolutely beautiful. I can't imagine wearing any of it except for maybe the odd piece not due to the pricelessness of them but due to the impractical aspect of them and the weight of the garments. Only a super model could pull off sashsaying them down a runway. An era of extreme excess of materials, hair, make-up even shoes and other accessories. Missing from the exhibition the tartan dress that supermodel Kate Moss wore- that's one of my favourite Vivienne Westwood dresses. I think that was VW punk tartan boobie exposure era.
