1) Find effective length
(here you have to find the length of the slab)
2) Find trial depth
(in this step you have to find the provided depth for the slab)
3) Loading calculation
(all the loads on the slab are calculated in this step)
4) Design moments by BM Consideration
(in this step you have can find the actual depth of the slab)
5) Main steel reinforcement
(the requirement of main steel and its spacing is calculated in this step)
6) Distribution Steel
(the requirement of distribution steel and its spacing is calculated in this step)

After following these steps you can easily design a simply supported one way slab.
