During 6 weeks, 10 international travel & tourism, participated in the 4th Edition of the acceleration program, structured by topics and objectives. During the agenda, the entrepreneurs had over 10 workshops, mentoring sessions, talks, and a Demo Day.

Besides working on their products and services, these entrepreneurs also had the opportunity to explore Madeira and Porto Santo. From October 6th until November 19th, 34 entrepreneurs, of 13 nationalities, represented 10 startups based in 8 countries.

On November 17th, Wednesday, the Demo Day took place in Funchal, Museu Casa da Luz. A moment of celebration, where the international startups shared their ideas with investors, partners, hoteliers, and travel & tourism agencies, etc.
This session also counted with João Freitas (Host Hotel Systems), Kate Wolfenden (103 Ventures | Island Innovation), and Henrique Tiago de Castro (Mama Shelter Lisbon) that explored topics related to startups, innovation, technologies, and sustainability, always related with the travel & tourism’s trends.

The Demo Day also welcomed on stage Miguel Albuquerque (Governo Regional da Madeira ), Sérgio Guerreiro (Turismo de Portugal) and António Nabais de Carvalho (Nova SBE).

Madeira Startup Retreat is a program developed by Startup Madeira and Turismo Portugal, in partnership with NOVA SBE.
