IMS Ibiza 2023 - Grimes Keynote Interview

The closing keynote interview of IMS Ibiza 2023, featured the ultimate independent artist leading the way in web3, AI, visuals, environmental principles… and making incredible music along the way.

Grimes discussed topics including artificial intelligence, music rights management and technology, interviewed by BBC Radio 1 broadcaster, The Jaguar Foundation founder and IMS Ibiza co-host Jaguar.

“I feel strongly that there’s way too much gatekeeping in music,” said Grimes. “Copyright sucks. Art is a conversation with everyone that’s come before us. Intertwining it with the ego is a modern concept. The music industry has been defined by lawyers, and that strangles creativity.”
