To open and Xtend and Climb telescoping ladder, put a foot on the bottom rung and pull up on the top coupling to lock it in place. Pull up a section at a time locking each section. If you aren't using the entire height, start from the bottom and extend a section at a time, leaving the unopened sections at the top. Close the ladder by starting at the highest couplings you can reach and push in on the tabs. Work down a section at a time.
