Delta Technology LLC, has developed a custom robotic solution utilizing multiple FANUC robots—including SCARA, LR Mate and collaborative models—to automate the handling and inspection of PVC pipe.

This system integrates FANUC robot and vision technology to deliver a fully automated, high-speed inspection and handling solution. By correlating inspection data with upstream process variables, the system not only improves product quality but also enhances process control—giving the customer a significant edge in a competitive market.

How the System Works
The process starts by cutting PVC pipe to length and heating it in a custom-designed active heating system. The heated pipe is placed into precision molds to form the required angle and bell-end. It’s then internally cooled to begin the setting process. A SCARA robot transfers the pipe to a quenching system to lock in the shape. After inspection, accepted parts are packed into CRX-erected boxes, which are sent to a manual sealing station once they have been filled.
