Sunday Organ Recital - White's 98 key Mammoth Gavioli Fairground Organ

Описание к видео Sunday Organ Recital - White's 98 key Mammoth Gavioli Fairground Organ

A complete and (mostly) unedited video of the traditional Sunday Organ Recital held at the Southern Counties Organ Festival in Devizes, on Sunday the 2nd of June at two in the afternoon. What better way to celebrate the organ's 70th anniversary in preservation than to hold a spectacular concert, especially with the organ playing in absolutely top form! I have tried to do the organ as much justice as possible with my video but of course, to really experience its versatility and power you had to have been there in person on the day of the concert, the park's acoustics were excellent and really showcased the full extent of the organ's power. My apologies for the sun's glare on camera, I didn't realise this had occurred until after the filming was complete, I have had a play around with the video settings but it still isn't perfect, especially as the video progresses - apologies also for the occasional bit of wind interference. As an aside, both myself and others were pleasantly surprised to see that a fairground organ can still draw a crowd in this day and age - with a large number of enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike staying to listen, many for the full duration of the concert. This video and the concert itself is dedicated to the memory of Alan Curry, long time member of the Show Organ Society and helper of White's who sadly passed away earlier this year. Many thanks to everyone involved for staging the concert, Mr. Mayhew for bringing the organ along, Jory Bennett on keyframe duty, Richard Evans and Ian Postlethwaite helping out with the preparation and flyers, and of course Alan Roberts for organising the event in the first place. Sorry if I've missed anyone else!
