Eastern Hemisphere: Integrating Inspiration, Empowerment, and Content in Sustainable Int'l Biz Ed

This panel discussion focused on enhancing IB curricula through the integration of responsible management principles and sustainability, tailored to meet the evolving demands of a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous (VUCA) world. The session explored how the PRME i5 principles can be employed to rejuvenate teaching strategies and curricula, making them more relevant and responsive to new generational learning styles and changing student needs. Panelists discussed the necessity of developing 21st-century skills through complex problem-solving that links directly to real-world challenges, advocating for an educational approach that emphasizes interdisciplinary learning and the application of knowledge across five dimensions: relevance, reliability, timeliness, shared understanding, and purpose. Panelists discussed strategies developed in partnership with industry to connect traditional academic content with the practical skills essential for the next generation of business leaders. They explored a variety of methods, such as design thinking, to engage students with real-world issues and cultivate skills that have immediate industry relevance.
