Hey All,

This week a small update based on some exchanges on (and off) YouTube. Found that the decision to go with nylon bolts was maybe not the most smart one. That is if you consider the risk of having a somewhat big hole in your boat.

Anyway, decided to play safe, to inform You(Tube) and have a fun little project. And yes, this is also part of the preparation: doing boat jobs.

For those who are interested: there is a section on my new best friend, the Wera Joker and I have my first experience with Lanocote, smelly stuff!...

We are Jan, Sacha and Stef nice to e-meet you! Great to learn you found this video which is a stap in our aim to set sail in 2024 on our Koopmans aluminum 36 foot Sailboat Wind Rose.

The plan was conceived in 2006 and we have been working towards it ever since. With the purchase of Wind Rose, our go anywhere center board aluminum sailboat, we committed to our departure.

We don't know the destination(s), the duration or the route yet but we do know we want to make the change and explore the world. At least for a year but who knows what happens.

Why 2024 you might wonder. Something with school and the hope Stef will join us at least parts of the trip. Also, we have to improve our sailing skills, our comfort level doing so and do some upgrades to Wind Rose anyway. Which basically means we started our sailing adventure already. It’s just part time iso full time ;).

Here on YouTube we take you along in our preparation with regular updates. Because we learn from it but also to show you that you can actually alter course if you put your mind to it.
