Israel-Hamas war live update: Live from Rafah, near Kuwaiti hospital, after Israel’s military said they had established “operational control” over the Gaza side of the Rafah crossing in the southern Gaza Strip overnight.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has begun conducting what it describes as "targeted strikes" against Hamas operatives in eastern Rafah.

Hamas announced its acceptance of an Egyptian-Qatari cease-fire proposal, but Israel said the deal did not meet its “core demands” and that it was pushing ahead with an assault on the southern Gaza city of Rafah.
