My Prayer is the first song from that upcoming album.
How the song came about is we as in Family and Friends Productions, consisting of Anthony E Sullivan (America), Damas Damascene (Rwanda), Eleazar A Varney (Liberia) came up with a new way to play afro beat music, by using our new found technique we experimented and created our first Newafro song and that song is My Prayer. When I first heard the music I was amazed at how good God was because the music was amazing, it had a nice grove, it was musical and it was funky, I told Damas that song was funky and he asked me to jump on it but I reminded him that this is a new form of African music and it must have a African face on it so I heard Kinq Jamez doing this song so I contacted Kinq Jamez and hyped him up on the new song and asked if he could jump on it. Kinq Jamez agreed and asked how I wanted him to deliver the rap and I said “Culture,” and the rest is history.
The video is beautiful but we had some difficulties in making the video due to weather or having to re shoot the videos because of rain fall and two locations in 2 separate African countries so logistics and climate made it difficult to use all footage but we went back and did it again just to get it right and like I said God is good because thanks to the RDB (Rwanda Development B)allowing us to use drone footage in prime locations we were able to get a good video and thanks for Kinq James and his crew in Nigeria, they had it bad because they were at the beach during the monsoon.
When we first started the video Damas told me about a friend of his, Little Man (Rwanda) and I thought ir would be great to have Little Man as a cop stopping them acting tuff and big behind his gun, I even thought of a couple of movies for him but that’s another time. The storyline was all brought together by the film crew and they did wondrously good so we are pleased with the final product, My Prayer.
