But thanks to some careful detective work by postal workers, a local high school student received his package, containing good-luck charms and stationery from his Japanese language teacher. For mail carriers who deal with mountains of letters and parcels each day, the last things they want to see are items without clear addresses. So when this package from Japan arrived in Hsinchu without any road on the label, it was a steep challenge for postal authorities to figure out the intended destination.Huang Song-tingZhudong Post OfficeThe address on the package only says No. 236 in Zhudong Township. There are many addresses with that number in Zhudong so I went to look up the recipient’s name. Since their name is pretty uncommon, I thought they would be relatively easier to find.A Japanese teacher sent the package to wish one of his students well, just like a scene from the Taiwanese blockbuster “Cape No. 7.” After carefully looking through Facebook for the addressee’s name, local post office staff finally confirmed the recipient’s identity and delivered the package successfully.
