The UN reports that flow of aid has been stalled despite Israel’s announcement of daily pause

During a press briefing, members of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated that the daily “tactical pause” announced by Israel over the weekend to increase the flow of humanitarian aid has failed to achieve its objectives.

Dr Thanos Gargavanis of WHO said the pause was not reflected on the ground, while Jens Laerke of OCHA added that “it is the responsibility of the Israeli authorities as the occupying power to ensure that assistance reaches those who need it the most and create the enabling environment for UN and partners to actually reach them.” Laerke cited a lack of safety and lawlessness as a major obstacle for facilitating aid.
