This Mathew Brady photograph of three Confederate prisoners soon after the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg is one of the Civil War's most iconic images. In the summer issue Military Images magazine, we published the first in-depth examination of the photo in almost a half-century. And we have another story coming up. Yesterday, I visited the Library of Congress to view the glass plate negatives. Here's what I saw.
