The Delhi Meerut RRTS, now called Namo Bharat, is a partially operational, 82.15 km-long semi-high-speed rail corridor connecting Delhi to Meerut, Ghaziabad, and other NCR cities via tunnels and elevated tracks. Inaugurated in October 2023 with the priority section between Sahibabad and Duhai, the entire corridor is expected to be fully operational by June 2025, offering fast, reliable, and high-capacity transit.

Key Aspects
Purpose:
To provide rapid, high-capacity commuter services and decongest the National Capital Region (NCR) by connecting Delhi to Meerut and Ghaziabad.
Operator:
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) oversees the project.
Route:
The corridor spans approximately 82 kilometers, connecting Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in Meerut.
Technology:
The RRTS trains are designed to be semi-high-speed, with a maximum operating speed of 160 km/h (though the design allows for up to 180 km/h), faster than standard metro trains.
Construction:
The corridor features a mix of elevated viaducts and underground tunnels.
Status and Operations
Priority Section:
The first section of the corridor, connecting Sahibabad to the Duhai depot, was inaugurated in October 2023.
Current Operations:
A segment of the corridor is operational, allowing commuters to travel from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South in under 40 minutes.
Full Operationalization:
The entire Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor is anticipated to be fully operational by June 2025.
