Do’s and Don’ts - Talking to a Cancer Patient

Let me help you find the right things to say when someone you know has cancer.

As an active person in the cancer community, I've learned a lot about the good and bad ways to talk with someone that has cancer. I start out with the helpful things to say and do, then talk about the stuff that isn't helpful and explain why. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm guilty of having said some of the things on the "Don't say" list, but I've learned from my mistakes and hopefully am better at trying to help others. Let's help a cancer patient feel a little more understood!
