If I was Voldemort, Chattanooga would be a city where I would hide a horcrux in — it’s just that memorable of a place for me. I took a solo weekend trip and explored what this gem of a city in Tennessee had to offer. From gorgeous views, hiking, and an emerging food scene, Chattanooga is a wonderful city that gives you cozy get-away vibes while offering you the comforts of a small city.

Part of the reason why I did was that I wanted to get out of Nashville but also wanted to enjoy my solitude and create adventures. Self-care means creating space for myself with solo experiences and making sure I nurture my relationship with myself. Making sure I create joy through travel and exploring new places is important to me and my mental health. I think having fun sometimes can be overlooked when it’s actually equally important for a balanced life.

Please note there’s limited parking at the entrance, so I suggest you park halfway up the mountain at a local park, or you can park near the bottom and walk your way up. It definitely is a few miles walk up a winding road without any official sidewalks.
